The Integrated Transport Division leads the provision of transport planning services across all modes of transport. The Birmingham office has seen unprecedented growth in recent years and we now require Senior Transport Planners to support the growth of our business and deliver on some exciting new projects.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input to transport, urban planning, business case, concept design and research projects, and multi-disciplinary projects for a variety of project types, sizes and client type
  • Supporting senior staff and contributing to successful project delivery
  • Checking technical work and adherence to programme plans
  • Preparing and / or contributing to technical reports and other project outputs
  • Assisting in team mentoring and training, involving skills transfer and knowledge sharing of technical best practice
  • Writing and contributing to proposals for a variety of project types, sizes and client type
  • Contribution to identifying new client opportunities, business development and continued growth
  • Working in a team environment, represent and exemplify Mott MacDonald’s values in all activities

Candidate Specification

  • BSc in Geography, Town Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Studies, Politics or Social Research or similar.
  • Likely to have rounded experience in transport planning with demonstrable skills in areas such as major scheme business case, transport strategy, sustainable transport planning, urban planning, regeneration or policy and strategy development .
  • Proven record in relationship building with colleagues, elected representatives and / or clients. Developing commercial/business awareness and acumen is essential.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of transport planning techniques, approaches to scheme appraisal and the use of key transport planning / modelling software / GIS would be welcomed though is not essential. A willingness to learn and develop in the transport planning field is of most importance.
