Job Description

Our environment team provides a wide range of specialist environmental support to both internal and external clients, with an increasing workload across the region. Due to continuous growth, we now have a need for an experienced ecologist to join our environmental team in Singapore.

A wide mix of projects will give you the opportunity to develop in new ways, and you will be part of helping us achieve our growth and realise your potential.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors (power, transport, ports, water). You will be part of a dynamic environmental practice who work collaboratively to drive forward our services to both internal and external clients and help develop new business for the team.

This role will suit an outgoing individual who wants to be part of a growth business in this specialised area and help lead the delivery of ecological consultancy in a fast moving, client focused commercial environment.

You will be office based; however, there will be a requirement to undertake site surveys/assessment and attend client meetings within the Southeast Asia region. In addition to conducting specialised ecology/biodiversity studies, the role will also provide general ecological support to a range of projects, working closely with other disciplines to ensure both project objectives are delivered successfully, within budget and to programme.

Candidate Specification

Your experience should be a good mixture of the following:
  • Degree in ecology, biology, biodiversity, life science or relevant subjects (postgraduate qualifications will be a plus)
  • Expertise in ecological processes at a landscape level as well as for one or more species groups such as mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and/or botany
  • Ability to understand how projects may impact ecology as well as the practical application of the mitigation hierarchy including biodiversity offsetting
  • Familiarity with international lending safeguard requirements, such as Equator Principles (EP), International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Safeguard Policy Statements
  • Experience in delivering environmental studies, particularly, ESIA and ESDD (experience with Biodiversity Action Plans and Critical Habitat Assessments will be a plus)
