Our Johannesburg office is now looking to recruit a Planner to join their project team.

Job Description

As a Planner you are expected to be one of the mains points of contact for much of the planning communication as well as your role including but not limited to the following;

- Updating and progressing of baseline cost and resource loaded programmes

- Interpretation and production of Earned Value using SPI and CPI

- Compliance with the Schedule management Procedures

- Liaise with the project’s work stream managers to creating, update and progress baseline schedule plans that represent activities required to successfully deliver key project / scheme milestones, being aware of interface activities as appropriate.

- Cost & resource load schedules and ensure they reflect accurate phasing

- Attend regular progress reviews and updates, with the appropriate project stakeholders to ensure robust tracking of key activities and milestones.

- Critical path analysis and calculation

- Reporting in accordance with client requirements and advice on corrective action to recover deviations from plan, as appropriate.

- Evaluate schedule risks and produce schedule risk analysis reports

Candidate Specification

Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications;
- A degree/diploma in a related subject and a relevant professional qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years planning experience on large projects
- Significant experience in using Primavera P6 and other project planning management software
- The ability to lead and direct the development of a programme of work from discussion within the project team, from scope of work and drawings.
- A well developed understanding of Risk Management techniques and the interpretation and representation of risk in programmes
- Significant experience of working in large teams and taking responsibility for planner and assistant planner output (if necessary)
- Proven track record in team management as well as a high level of interpersonal and communication skills are required
- 'Hands-on' experience with NEC3 is preferred
