BMS auditor / advisor

Job Profile

Mott MacDonald is recognised by IRCA as an Organisation Employing Auditors (OEA).

We operate a Business Management System (BMS) accredited to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety), BS 10500 (Anti-Bribery) and ISO 27001 (Information Security) management systems.

Due to growth, a BMS auditor / advisor is required to join the Transportation Unit. The role reports to the Unit’s BMS manager. The role is based in Croydon but there will be a significant amount of travel to offices around the UK and potentially internationally.

Job Description

Ideally, you are a Chartered quality professional or someone who is advanced in working towards that qualification.

You will liaise with the line manager to develop your own CPD programme (e.g. to achieve IRCA Registered Auditor status).

Key elements of the role, responsibilities and reporting lines are as follows:

Principally, auditing and reporting on:

Quality, Environmental, Safety, Anti-Bribery and Information security aspects of project work;
Operation of the BMS within the various divisions of the Transportation Unit;

Delivering BMS awareness training to staff;
Involvement in business improvement activities;
Providing advice to staff on the implementation of the BMS;
Unit BMS records management.

Candidate Specification

Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:
Ideally Chartered quality professional.
Qualifications/certificates to demonstrate learning in the role’s context.

Essential competencies / skills:
Auditing in one or more of Quality, Environmental and Safety areas.
IT skills, specifically strong MS Office skills and good communication skills.

Desirable academic, professional qualifications and experience:
Auditor / Lead auditor training certificates from IRCA-accredited training body.

Desirable competencies / skills:
Some involvement in business improvement activities.
Understanding of risk management and project development processes.
Experience of presenting to groups of people.
