As Senior Consultant, you will support our growth ambitions and our capacity to offer services in the field of economic development and growth.
We are looking to expand our capability to implement skills and private sector development projects in low and middle-income countries within Africa and Asia. The focus of this work will include expanding innovation and entrepreneurship, market and private sector development, employment creations and skills development, agricultural development and food security and business enabling environment.
In the role of Senior Consultant, you will apply your strong business acumen to build our business by assessing market opportunities and preparing bids. You will proactively pursue opportunities, maintain good relations with relevant international financial institutions and partner organisations and direct the preparation of proposals.
You will work on innovative programmes that aim to improve the lives of people in various parts of the world, mainly in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and will be managing and directing ongoing projects. At Mott MacDonald, projects are directed in accordance with our ISO 9001 compliant procedures which include financial and technical progress, quality of delivery, staffing issues and client liaison. In addition, you will provide short-term technical inputs in projects for which you will travel abroad.
You will also actively support the sharing of knowledge and experience in E&G, and be mentor of junior colleagues.
A Master’s degree in Development Economics or any other relevant discipline;
A personal commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and eagerness to contribute to the development of countries in the South;
At least 15 years’ relevant experience in design, implementation and management of international development projects in the field of market and private sector development, employment creation and skills development, agriculture and rural development and business enabling environment;
At least 5 years’ experience in business development, bid preparation and report writing;
Sound network of contacts in the donor community and of potential clients in developing countries;
Excellent writing and communication skills in English;
Excellent conceptual and analytical skills;
Ability to work to tight schedules;
Ability to travel;
Advanced level in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Outlook);
Full support of the Business Ethics policy of Mott MacDonald;
