Job Description

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Civil Engineering graduate to work under the direction of a Professional Engineer in our Transportation group. In this position you will gain exposure and hands on experience to engineering design. In our transportation group we focus on Highways/Bridges and Rail/Transit.

In this position, you will be working as part of a design team, assisting with:
  • conceptual, preliminary and detailed design
  • site inspection
  • design calculations
  • report writing
  • Introduction and training on AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation or BIM.
Projects to include Highway/Roadway Design, alignments, hydraulics, stormwater, geometric design. Tasks will consist of design, administration (office), and field assignments. We will train on AutoCAD, Microstation, Geopak or other relevant engineering software.

Candidate Specification

  • Completion of a Master's, Bachelor's level degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Passing of FE Exam or Certified EIT preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the infrastructure engineering industry preferred
  • Prior class knowledge or working knowledge of engineering design programs ( Microstation, or similar) preferred
  • A genuine interest in engineering design
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized and a self starter
  • Effective in both verbal and written communication
