We are currently recruiting for Permanent Way Assistant Designers to join the experienced and growing Railway Services team in our Gdansk office, to help further promote and develop the office within the internal Mott MacDonald Group market as well as supporting the businesses growth. The role provides the opportunity to work on an exciting range of international projects including major framework & infrastructure developments which will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer opportunities for skill set development and career development. Our Global Design Europe team within the Gdansk and Warsaw office has a proven track record in high quality innovative design within the Railway Services market.

Job Description

We are seeking Permanent Way Assistant Designers to work within the Global Delivery Services Unit. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. The focus of the role is technical development and communication, especially good English language skills. The key elements of the role include:

  • Support design of track arrangements - collaborate with others to produce accurate 3D, 4D (3D and time), 5D (4D and cost) models and 2D drawings.

  • Work and liaise with associated engineering disciplines as part of delivering projects.

  • Reporting to the P-Way Technical Delivery Lead.

  • Working as integrated part of Project Delivery Team

  • This position will be approximately 100% billable in design.

Candidate Specification

  • BSc or MSc Civil Engineer – P-way specialization

  • Up to 5 years’ experience in track design

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with good knowledge of English language

  • Practical knowledge of computer aided engineering programs such as: Bentley Rail Track, OpenRail and Microstation is necessary. Knowledge of Civil 3D would be taken as additional advantage.

  • Design experience in rail projects

  • Have experience of working within project teams

  • Willing to travel abroad
