The Energy Unit, specifically the Power, Process & Nuclear division are recruiting a Programmable Electronic Systems Engineer to join our team in Cumbria. Working on the Site Security Enhancement Project (SSEP) you will be responsible for carrying out multiple, large value, security enhancement projects across our client’s site.

Job Description

  • Work with the supply chain to ensure that the client retains sufficient knowledge and understanding of delivered designs
  • Ensure safe & legal designs
  • Develop and maintain design intent during the project delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure that projects deliver design records to enable installation, commissioning, use and care in order to demonstrate that functional and security requirements are fulfilled
  • Undertake design surveillances (audits) on supply chain design delivery processes
  • Act as interface between project delivery design team and EngA/system engineers
  • Have input into the number and type of design deliverables (drawings, specification etc) required to be produced by supply chain design delivery organisation, to enable fit for purpose design delivery
  • Production of documentation, e.g. PFS, V&V, Basis of design

Candidate Specification

You will be able to demonstrate project delivery experience and have excellent communication and leadership skills. Candidates should demonstrate a good knowledge of the UK nuclear new build programme and some knowledge of overseas nuclear projects would be an advantage. Candidates should have good skills with standard Microsoft Office software to produce reports, proposals and presentations. Knowledge of both Replicon and Auto-CAD are advantageous.

Ideally you will be a chartered engineer, or working towards it, with experience working in the nuclear sector. Candidates must be eligible to apply for security clearance
