Job Description

  • Performs incident, problem and change management activities for infrastructure services;
  • Control access to infrastructure resources and fulfils standard service requests;
  • Subject matter expert and escalation point for the Eastern Infrastructure team for incidents, problems and IT service continuity related to Hosting services.
  • Hosting services include storage, servers, virtualisation, server operating systems, backup and recovery.
  • Level 2 & 3 technical support for Subject matter expect and escalation point for Network & Data Centre services e.g. local & wide area networks, PBX, SIP, data centres, computer rooms, network security and remote access;
  • Executes management processes to deliver quality infrastructure services reliably, efficiently and effectively;
  • Ensures relevant people are informed about new and on-going incidents and have timely access to Incident Reviews;
  • Works to achieve relevant operational level targets and proactively escalates potential service levels breaches to Eastern Infrastructure Services Manager;
  • Works with relevant infrastructure service providers to report, troubleshoot and escalate problems;
  • Carries out day-to-day activities and checks as part of the on-going maintenance of infrastructure services in a timely manner;and
  • Ensures own actions comply with Mott MacDonald standards, policies and any regulation; this includes adhering to the change management process which is used to protect production IT services.

Candidate Specification

Formal Education & Certification
• A relevant University degree or diploma is essential
• ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate is essential

Knowledge and Experience
• At least 3 years’ experience working in IT infrastructure support covering servers, storage systems and Virtualisation platforms is essential
• Strong networks (TCP/IP) skills with experience troubleshooting network issues is essential
• Experience working in administration and support of large data networks is desirable
• Experience working in a global organisation and part of global virtual team is desirable
• Experience supporting complex IT systems associated with larger organisations is desirable
• Experience working with third party providers to support and manage parts of the IT infrastructure is essential

• Excellent English language skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
• Willingness to share own technical knowledge with other technical staff and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;• Good technical writing skills
• Ability to think logically, analyse situations, solve complex technical problems
• Ability to think clearly under pressure and tenacious
• Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and activities for both self and others
• Understand the importance of managing change and its impact on individuals and the business
• Ability to travel domestically at short notice to visit the Singapore data centre and internationally on occasion
• Competent use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
