Asset planner - Water / Wastewater

Job Profile

A position of trust - our asset management team provides industry-leading advisory services to water utility companies, including asset management planning, utility performance improvement, regulatory advisory services, investment appraisal, and water and wastewater strategies.

Asset management has a key role in helping water companies to meet their targets and achieve their goals across their infrastructure and operations, with consequent benefits for each of us, and our environment. Our consultancy framework with Scottish Water continues to flourish, so we're looking for an asset planner with strong knowledge of the water/wastewater sector to help us in our endeavours.

Job Description

Work will focus on the regulated water utility sector, but will also include environmental projects and work in the wider infrastructure sector. Typical responsibilities include:
  • Asset management benchmarking studies
  • Analysis of performance and cost information for efficiency assessment
  • Development of asset management tools and processes to add value to client operations
  • Use of risk-based methods to assess investment needs for above and below-ground assets
  • Development and appraisal of capital and operational solutions

Candidate Specification

  • Relevant degree-level qualifications
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail
  • Outward facing, with very good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious to develop your experience and career in this area
  • Project management and client liaison skills
  • Broad range of asset planning experience within the water sector, either in wastewater, water supply or both areas
  • Familiar with water sector regulation and risk-based methods of investment planning
