Job Description

Mott MacDonald seeks a skilled and motivated water/wastewater engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA office. Working with a team of dedicated water and wastewater engineers to design local and regional projects. This position will focus on both industrial and municipal wastewater treatment projects. This person may also work with the water team on water qualify design and initiatives.


Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Engineering/task management for the planning, design, or construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Technical coordination with other members of the engineering/construction team
  • Design/production of pumping, storage, or distribution/conveyance facilities for wastewater systems
  • Design/production of sewage pumping and collection systems
  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria

Candidate Specification

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering, M.S. Preferred;
  • EIT required, Professional Engineering license preferred or ability to obtain in a reasonable amount of time
  • 2-5 years experience in water/wastewater infrastructure engineering; strong technical aptitude and communications skills.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and automated design tools is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, good writing abilities, strong organizational skills
  • Motivated to develop workplans and budgets, and have a willingness to travel periodically to various project sites
