Job Description

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by a prestigious client in the Washington D.C. metro area to oversee a significant task order rail, signals and associated maintenance work. As a result of a high-volume of work, we're looking to welcome two office engineers to our team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of materials for weekly coordination and support meetings
  • Receipt and review of requests for scopes of work, including distribution to relevant/affected parties.
  • Distribution of coordinated work plans, equipment line-ups and other logistical work coordination details
  • Maintenance of department shared drive and electronic file storage for coordinated work plans, maps, schedules and progress reports
  • Preparation of bi-weekly incidents, trends & initiatives report which will consolidate incident and trend analysis from engineering, performance against planned work and status of major MOWE initiatives
  • Preparation of presentations, reports and memorandums for executive and/or external audiences (e.g. RailSTAT, board presentations)
  • Preparation and distribution of correspondence, memoranda, action lists, and related material
  • Development and maintenance of department internal website

Candidate Specification

Our team of professionals provides cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. We’re looking for office engineers to join our team to continue this traction and invite applications from candidates with:
  • Associate degree or above in a construction, construction management or a related professional engineering
  • Minimum of three years of construction and/or engineering related experience, preferably on large, complex programs.
    Rail experience and/or Transit Systems experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required; proficiency with Primavera 6 (P6) is preferred.
  • Ability to work periodically in the field around operating equipment and field / construction experience
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and information flows, analyze data and develop reports and presentations for a variety of audience.
  • Good listening and written communication skills are required
