Job Description

Mott MacDonald is looking for candidates to fill an autoCAD technician II position in the Pensacola, FL office to work with the electrical and instrumentation design team to develop and generate project plans associated with projects in the oil and gas industry.

The successful candidate will work with our electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation design team to:
  • cConvert existing scanned or hardcopy drawings to electronic format by efficient use of scanning/tracing
  • Import 2D electronic files into 3D CAD design environment.
  • Develop electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation plans based on direction provided by the engineering team.
  • Coordinate drafting tasks with other disciplines.
  • Gather equipment data through coordination with equipment vendors or vendor websites.
  • Compile PDF submittal packages for transmittal to client representatives.
  • Coordinate with our client drafting leads to ensure client standards are being followed on the development of drawing packages.

Candidate Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Work experience in a design office completing design assignments for an engineering or technical consulting firm.
  • Experience working in a team environment to produce technical drawing packages.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate design tasks with other discipline team members.
  • The ability to create and modify AutoCAD drawings with multiple external references, and incorporate new and existing drawings in to an AutoCAD sheet set.
  • The ability to organize and manage daily work tasks provided by the engineering team, as well as track and document progress on the assigned work.
