Boralex has successfully refinanced most of its wind farm operations in France in the largest renewable energy refinancing arrangement in France. Mott MacDonald was appointed as lender’s technical advisor to support in the assessment of technical risks related to the portfolio. The total installed capacity of the portfolio is about 1GW and the sites are located across France.
Boralex’s portfolio consists of 61 wind farms and two solar PV farms, composed of 57 operational assets and 4 assets in construction or pre-construction stages.
Mott MacDonald’s assessment included the analysis of historical operations, site inspections on approximately 50% of the assets, environmental and social performance reviews and operations and maintenance contract reviews.
Gary Martin Dit Latour, renewable energy engineer, Mott MacDonald said: “Our continuous involvement with Boralex’s portfolio has allowed us to provide effective and timely support to the lenders during all stages of the refinancing. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Boralex as the renewable energy market in France continues to thrive.”
