Mott MacDonald’s Group people director Tania Heap has been appointed to the board of the UK’s Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) as chair of its Human Resources Task Force. Tania’s two-year appointment will see her lead the taskforce, which serves as a platform for ACE to engage with members and understand the issues that affect both staff and the wider industry.
The taskforce has been established to encourage best practices for addressing challenges currently found within the consultancy and engineering sectors, such as increasing diversity, tackling skills shortages and the impact of the UK’s departure from the European Union. Its work will also inform ACE’s representation of members to external organisations and policy-makers in government.
Commenting on her appointment, Tania said: “This taskforce is a great opportunity to increase dialogue amongst members and the industry. I want to support ACE members, wherever they are in the UK and whatever the size of their workforce, to make use of their extensive collective experiences. Some challenges are too big to face alone. However, by pooling our knowledge we can find the resources and expertise to address them and allow the many voices in the industry to be heard.”
Tania’s career in human resources has taken in a diverse range of sectors after starting out in financial services. Since joining Mott MacDonald over 20 years ago, she has worked with a range of teams in the consultancy and is now a member of its senior management team. Tania has been an active member of ACE during this time, providing advice to members and regularly attending the HR Task Force meetings and lobbying Government departments on key issues impacting the industry.
