As well as focusing on value and running performance, our whole life approach looks to maintain a very practical understanding of the end user’s facilities management (FM) requirements. We provide advice relating to all aspects of the design, operation and occupation of the built environment, and align our FM services with each client’s individual overarching organisational objectives.
We work with clients to underscore their business needs, understand how services are currently delivered, illuminate the benefits of different delivery models and confirm that the proposed solution meets your requirements. Our advisors act independently from the supply chain thereby remaining objective and professional, which ensures transparency in our solutions and delivery. Our advice is tailored to create bespoke solutions with the overall aim of ensuring that services are aligned to and support your overarching organisational objectives and best value.
Our sole aim is to support your business by highlighting opportunities to reduce expenditure, implement strategies that protect long term asset investment and seek continuous improvements.
Our team has a broad range of experience covering hard and soft services in both the public and private sectors. Our portfolio includes central and local government as well as clients in the specialist fields of housing, law enforcement, education, health, financial services, retail and waste management.

How we've delivered value
We have worked in international markets where total solutions are not a fully developed industry. Mott MacDonald has supported clients in setting up delivery models, including initial workshops to explain typical facilities management services, models of operation and the benefits and potential drawbacks of outsourcing.
Clients have said that our services are innovative, create added value, and deliver expertise “with the minimum of window dressing”.
Leicestershire and Rutland NHS Facilities Management Services Review, UK – We undertook a facilities management services review across four NHS Trusts and highlighted “quick wins” for our client, as well as an appraisal of potential procurement options. We then assisted the client in drafting output specifications and a set of procurement documents for competitive tender.
English Schools Foundation (ESF), Hong Kong – We were lead facilities management advisor and UK project manager for the delivery of an operational facilities management asset management system covering 19 schools. We developed maintenance schedules and lifecycle replacement schedules, set up a robust asset management database, developed a training manual and delivered face-to-face training on system use and maintenance.
West Wiltshire Housing Non HRA Housing PFI, UK – We acted as technical advisor on this project to deliver 400 new homes across the West Wiltshire area. We provided facilities management, cost consultancy and technical advice, helped develop a robust set of specifications, and supported the client in the development of bid evaluation criteria.
