Our track record
Our experience has given us unique insight into the many challenges and issues that may arise with land and property matters.
Key examples of the services we’ve provided on major infrastructure projects include:
- High Speed 1 (£5.8 billion) – As the Department of Transport's project representative we provided strategic advice, safeguarding the interests of the Secretary of State for Transport on all matters related to land and property. These included compulsory purchase issues, acquisitions and disposals, creation of the HS1 lease, due diligence on property rights and holdings for the length of the HS1 route in preparation for the £2.1 billion sate of the HS1 Concession.
- Crossrail, £16 billion – We provided advice to the Department for Transport on governance, policy development and compliance in relation to the acquisition and disposal of land, ensuring that the Secretary of State for Transport was safeguarded from legal challenge by demonstrating that proper processes had been adhered to.
- Thames Tideway Tunnel, £4 billion – We are providing advice to the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) in relation to the development and review of the strategy and governance for the acquisition, management and disposal of land for the Thames Tideway Tunnel. We are also undertaking compliance and assurance reviews to ensure funding is utilised efficiently and effectively in line with Ofwat requirements and responsibilities.
- High Speed 2 (HS2), £42 billion – We are providing land referencing and access licence management services. This includes establishing land ownership details within agreed limits/boundaries so that relevant persons can be contacted ornotified during the passage of the Hybrid Bill and beyond and also to facilitate access for environmental and engineering surveys.
We have developed a GIS solution to support our environment and engineering experts work on HS2. This uses state-of-the-art ArcGIS Server and bespoke systems to support the process, which is enabling greater collaboration between all parties involved.
