This project will bring together the consortium’s expertise and the local knowledge from the three sports, all three of which have representatives on the design group. I have no doubt the result of that collaboration will be an exciting and world class stadium.”

As lead consultant Mott MacDonald will provide the overall project management of the stadium plus civil, structural and building services engineering as well as cost management services from its cost consultancy Franklin + Andrews. HOK Sport will lead the architectural design of the new facility.

Commenting on the appointment Mott MacDonald’s project manager Bill Dowey said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to design this exciting stadium. Having worked on a number of major stadia around the world, Mott MacDonald not only brings world-class experience to the project design but, having been established in Belfast for over 50 years, offers local delivery. “

John Barrow for HOK Sport added: “Northern Ireland has a great future ahead. HOK Sport is proud to be part of that vision. We are in the business of creating outstanding buildings, and the new stadium will be a world class history-making facility for all. On a personal note, I came to love Northern Ireland during my involvement in the Odyssey Arena, and I look forward to working in Northern Ireland again on this wonderful landmark project.”
