Additional growth potential has been identified in downstream (agriculture-led) industry development, tourism services, and fisheries, provided this is supported by adequate infrastructure, local public and private sector capacity strengthening and a supportive business climate.
The World Bank employed us to aid the development of an integrated growth corridor strategy, including the selection of focus sectors as economic basis of the growth corridor and the formulation of sector strategies and interventions.
We also helped in identifying the institutional requirements for the creation of a growth corridor development agency. The agency would be aimed at enhancing and improving:
-
Private investment
-
Productive land use
-
Business investment climate
-
Institutional strengthening
-
Capacity development
-
good governance
-
Business development support
