We develop designs in accordance with both prescriptive and performance-based regulations and standards.
We have expert knowledge of developing effective strategies for fire and life safety, asset protection to avoid serious damage and transport disruption, and safety during emergency operations. Our experts undertake computer modelling to simulate incidents, their impacts on tunnel structures and people, and to predict the effectiveness of different emergency responses.
We also deal with environmental issues associated with tunnel operations, including atmospheric pollution, noise, spillages and contaminated water. Our technical assurance activities include reliability availability maintainability analysis.
Our approach to delivering designs involves a strong focus on design coordination and managing interfaces at the earliest stage. We produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation and also build fully-coordinated 3D models.
On top of our technical skills, we provide associated services such as project control, stakeholder management, risk management and cost estimation.
It is important to consider the lessons learned from actual incidents, the latest research and development as well as feedback from operational experience of different risk management strategies. Safety technologies are continually being improved and we continue to keep abreast of these and use our broad knowledge to identify and develop the most appropriate solutions.
