Mott MacDonald is International Consultant of the Year 2008

Mott MacDonald has been named International Consultant of the Year 2008 at the NCE/ACE Consultants of the Year Awards.

Global management, engineering and development consultancy Mott MacDonald triumphed in the international category at the awards, which celebrate outstanding business performance by UK civil engineering consultancies.
The winners were announced
on Friday 14 March in London.

Mott MacDonald was recognised for truly establishing itself as a global firm. It was noted in particular for its record global growth, which in 2007 reached 20% for the second consecutive year. The company’s strategic development into target geographic and sectoral markets, facilitated by effective profile-raising and attracting talented professionals through targeted recruitment campaigns, made Mott MacDonald the stand-out contender in the category. Flexibility in the Group’s working environment was also praised.

Peter Wickens, Mott MacDonald’s Group chairman, commented: "We are absolutely delighted that Mott MacDonald has been named International Consultant of the Year 2008. This win is recognition that we have moved from a UK consultancy doing international work to a global company with a network of expertise in offices around the world generally managed and staffed by local professionals."

The International Consultant of the Year 2008 award marks further success for Mott MacDonald in 2008. The company also celebrated the landmark opening by the Queen of Heathrow’s new Terminal 5 building, on time and to budget, on Friday 14 March 2008. Mott MacDonald acted as design engineer for all the substructures and foundations at Terminal 5. It also provided rail assurance and integration services for the new Heathrow Express and Piccadilly Line extensions, tunnelling advice and project and programme management.

This follows the announcement earlier this month that Mott MacDonald was placed 8th out of 868 companies in the UK’s Sunday Times ‘20 Best Big Companies to work for’ survey published on Sunday 9 March 2008, improving last year’s 11th position by three places.
