Mott MacDonald is best technical adviser

Mott MacDonald has once again clinched the prestigious Best Technical Adviser Award at this year’s Public Private Finance (PPF) Awards. This is the fifth time in six years – and the fourth consecutive year – that Mott MacDonald has won this accolade.

A panel of some of the most respected and experienced professionals from the public and private sectors judged the awards. They highlighted the 20 UK projects worth around £9 billion that Mott MacDonald brought to financial close over the last 12 months. The company’s global success was noted which last year extended to 75 overseas assignments – including 16 financial closes – in 33 countries.

Mott MacDonald’s Infrastructure Finance Director, Majid Haquani said, “The award reflects our outstanding contribution to the forward progress of public private partnerships and confirms our commanding position in this sector as recently highlighted by Infrastructure Journal magazine, which named Mott MacDonald the world’s leading PFI technical adviser.”

At the same event, Mott MacDonald celebrated further success as Newcastle City Library won the Best Community/User Involvement in a Project Award. The library was part of the £40 million Newcastle Libraries PFI Project, the largest library PFI undertaken in the UK.

Following extensive consultation with the community and library users, the Kajima Consortium delivered a library designed for all sectors of society. Mott MacDonald provided full civil and structural engineering design services for the consortium. The judges praised the local community engagement that took place throughout the project. This has enabled it to quickly exceed its target of attracting one million visitors during its first year.

Mott MacDonald’s expertise on a $7.6 billion portfolio of social infrastructure public private partnership (PPP) projects, places it well ahead of its competitors in the ranking tables.

Mott MacDonald’s success is a result of its team of 150 plus project finance specialists working across its wide-ranging portfolio of project finance schemes. The company provides technical support in all infrastructure sectors, lending expertise on major projects including defence, housing schemes, oils and gas, public buildings, renewables, roads and rail, hospitals, schools telecommunications, water and waste water programmes, and municipal waste.
