Mott MacDonald’s business in Ireland has acquired Dublin and Cork based engineering consultancy Pettit. To be known as Mott MacDonald Pettit, the new company will form one of the largest engineering consultancies in Ireland with combined resources of around 300 staff and additional offices in Killarney, Waterford and Carlow.

Pettit is a well-known Irish consultancy established in 1954. Mott MacDonald’s core activities in Ireland cover civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and building services engineering for marine and harbour works, transportation projects and energy developments. Work spans the entire project development cycle from initial concept and planning, through construction, to operation and maintenance of the built facility.

The chairmen of both organisations believe that uniting the complementary skills and resources of the two businesses brings considerable added benefits for customers. “Bringing Pettit on board is the fulfilment of both companies long term strategy to expand their activities in Ireland,” says Mott MacDonald chairman Mike Blackburn. “Our services are totally complementary which means we will be able to offer our customers a broader cross section of skills in all sectors.”
