Mott MacDonald won the Utility Infrastructure Award at the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) Engineering Excellence Awards.
The award recognises the added value we bring to every area of utility infrastructure delivery across the UK. Our entry focused on three projects covering the power, water supply and wastewater treatment sectors:
National Grid London Power Tunnels: we’re providing design/risk management and construction supervision for the installation of transmission cables in 34km of tunnels to provide secure and resilient power infrastructure for London.
Covenham-Boston pipeline: we provided project feasibility studies and design/environmental services for a 60km pipeline transferring 27 million litres per day of potable water.
Cleaner Seas for Sussex: we were engineering consultant and design/construction supervision for 11km of tunnel, 17 shafts, two pumping stations, a wastewater treatment works and a 2.5km sea outfall to enable daily treatment of 95 million litres of wastewater.
Each of these projects has exceeded client expectation, required innovative solutions and exemplified sustainable design.
The judges said: “Mott MacDonald is working on thousands of utility infrastructure projects worldwide and has had an exceptional year in terms of delivering quality service for its clients.”
