Opportunity
We were tasked with promoting environmental awareness among employees and the population affected by the Urban Development Programme of Catanduva. This included not only the environmental impacts and benefits, but also the correct use of equipment, infrastructure and natural resources preservation. Raising awareness of the public's role in sustainability and increasing their respect for the built environment was key.
Solution
Performed in only four months, the programme enabled the training of 120 workers, 60 municipal managers, 60 teachers and 90 construction workers. Educational textbooks specific for each group were created along with 150 posters with four different themes and 50.000 flyers.
Careful planning in collaboration with a dedicated and skilled technical team and experienced partners enabled the delivery of the educational and promotional materials which provided clear messaging to the client and target audience. After a thorough understanding of our client’s expectations, we conducted a participatory rapid appraisal to get subsidies for the programme, define promotional strategies as well as carry out training. This proved essential for the success of the programme.
Outcome
The individuals involved in the programme became strong advocates in their communities, public sector and social spheres. In addition, the programme enabled the exchange of qualified information and encouraged community involvement with municipality management activities.
