Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
I was hired from Mott MacDonald Indonesia in 2008 after my graduation. I joined because of the opportunity that Mott MacDonald had given me to be able to work internationally.
What is the best thing about your role?
I am currently assigned as Senior Water & Sanitation Engineer and Project Manager. I have the opportunity to extend my network during collaboration with colleagues across the group and with external clients and business partners. I am also challenged not only to give my best performance, but also to contribute in business development, seeking new clients and winning work for the company.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Mott MacDonald is a global company. What's remarkable is how we can have a common way to work across all regions. This work methodology has invited opportunities to collaborate with our experts who are located throughout six continents. I love the new slogan of “local delivery, global know-how” because delivering global expertise to local clients has become the culture of Mott MacDonald.
How many years have you worked for Mott MacDonald, and what has been your proudest achievement to date?
I joined Mott MacDonald in February 2008. My proudest achievement is that I have travelled to so many places with Mott MacDonald including Jakarta, Surabaya, Aceh, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi. I have been assigned to various roles and have been involved with well-known projects for UNICEF, American Red Cross, Nakheel, Invest AD, Musanada, ADSSC and ADDC.
How has your career developed at Mott MacDonald?
My career has been greatly developed at Mott MacDonald. All of my earlier roles from site inspector, structural designer, project coordinator and civil engineer have been my assets to grow as a project manager. The projects assigned to me have given me vast knowledge including leisure estates, water and wastewater systems, structures and infrastructures and transportation sectors. These have opened flexibilities for me to be placed in any project under various roles in further career development.
Are you involved with any charities or do any volunteer work?
In recent years, giving back to the communities while gaining more experience has motivated me to be involved with volunteer work. Aside from volunteering for the Project Management Institute, I also undertook various volunteering positions through the United Nations Online Volunteering programme including Concept Design and Cost Estimation for Mission Hospital in Cheptais Kenya and Project Management Advisory for agricultural business initiatives in Uganda. I am also part of the Leadership Team for The Gathering Prayer Group who is responsible for its operations based in the United States of America.
Where is your favourite place?
Anywhere with my wife and daughter is the best place on earth.
