Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
After working for a number of other companies before joining Mott MacDonald, I wanted to find a company with a good reputation in the industry for not only delivering high quality work but also for developing their employees.
What is the best thing about your role?
The varied work means I have the opportunity to get involved with all areas of the industry and keeps things interesting.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Supportive and eager to help advance individuals careers and understanding. No matter what the question is, there is always an expert in the company that can help.
What has been your most memorable project?
My most memorable project was the Ethane Hub feasibility and logistics study. The aim of the project was to determine the feasibility of creating an ethane unloading facility for 5 – 20kt ships, the suitability of converting four existing pipelines to transport ethane and route a new 6km pipeline through a heavily industrialised area.
The project was technically very challenging and the client had a very tight deadline however, all deliverables were completed on time and the client wrote to express their thanks as the quality of the study exceeded their expectations.
When you’re not in the office where can you be found?
I try and spend as much time as I can at the local climbing wall and gym. I have loved climbing since I was 10 and the work/life balance at Mott MacDonald means I now have the time to enjoy my hobbies.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Geneva (Switzerland). It’s an amazing city to spend time in and with the lake for water sports and the mountains for climbing and snow sports it’s the perfect base for any sports enthusiast.
