What are some of the key projects the Hong Kong team have worked on?

We've been working continuously at the Hong Kong International Airport for more than 20 years, starting with setting out the development strategy, leading design of Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and the North Satellite Concourse. Currently we are working on the third runway, Automatic Carpark B, and we are providing planning, lighting and fire and life safety services for another important route on Hong Kong Islands - the Western Airport Railway Extended Overrun Tunnel (APRON)


We’ve participated in various other symbolic projects in the community, including:

  • Tung Chung New Town Extension (West)
  • Construction of Station Square at Kai Tak
  • Set up of an Open Museum for Historical Relics Appreciation in the Country Parks of Hong Kong
  • New Engineering Contract (NEC) - designing and construction of Tin Shui Wai Hospital for Architectural Services Department
  • Reprovisioning of Harcourt Road Fresh Water Pumping Station for Water Supplies Department
  • Central Kowloon Route

Moreover, we have been involved in over 15 hospital projects including both public and private sectors, theme park construction, some other Building sustainability and building services with local schools. Furthermore, we are working on significant hotel projects in Southeast Asia, and on some utilities and high-rise building projects in mainland China.

1. Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) – Scheme ”A” Program

We are committed to supporting your professional career goals. At Mott MacDonald, we offer HKIE Graduate Training Scheme ‘A’ in various disciplines and related CPDs to our graduates. You will be assigned a qualified engineering supervisor and a training tutor who will provide guidance along your training journey and facilitate the completion of your training program. We also have a dedicated talent development specialists, sophisticated learning and development platform, CPD sponsorship, accredited graduate schemes, chartership talks, site visits, etc. Mott MacDonald aim to give you the experience and knowledge to continually develop your skills.

2. Early Professionals program (ECP)

Within these three years, you will get to know Mott MacDonald and launch your career, establish your brand, be a consultant, and drive your own career development and planning.

3. ECP committee and activities


A committee is formed to make decisions on various local and regional activities, creating a ‘tribe like’ experience and support network.

  • Onboarding workshops to share Sectors latest projects
  • The Festival of Wild Ideas event where the region’s ECPs collaborate in groups to bring some creative solutions to global problems
  • Peer mentorship to help cheer you on, challenge your progress, give you feedback, and to talk through anything that you need.
  • A learning management system where you can self-enrol into courses (in-person / virtual).

4. On the job learning


Participation and exposure on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects in Hong Kong and overseas.

We have been a recipient of the Manpower Developer Award since 2019 to recognise our outstanding achievements in manpower training and development.


Social activities


You can become part of our exclusive social group for graduates and young professionals. We have a diverse range of activities like barbeques, cooking classes, baking classes, dragon boat competitions, snooker and other social activities, as well as some professional site visits. You will have the opportunity to expand your social and professional networks by meeting new people across the company. Also, it’s a lot of fun!


Community involvement

There are various ways to apply:

The recruitment process begins when you submit your CV. Your CV will be initially reviewed and if you meet the necessary criteria, you may receive a phone call inviting you the interview stage – there may be more than one interview. If you successfully pass the interview stage you will be offered the role. You will then need to complete some documentation so that we can undertake required checks, and once you pass this stage you will agree a start date with your line manager.

Who should I address my CV / cover letter to?

Your CV/cover letter should be addressed To Whom It May Concern.

What package do you offer?

We offer very competitive salary and package arrangements as well as benefits which include:

Do you offer a relocation package when I join?

Not usually as we try to hire local graduates where possible.

Yes, we support our staff who wish to gain engineering, planning, surveying, project management, human resource or other business certifications.

What opportunities are there to travel?

Many graduates travel within their region and even across Australia and New Zealand. Secondments are available for high performing graduates, depending on project needs and the opportunity for rotation.
