Typically, we provide engineering opportunities within environmental and project areas. Discover more about some of the highly varied roles we offer below.
Project engineer jobs in Houston
As a project engineer, you’ll manage and perform engineering/design execution, and prepare project execution and quality plans. You’ll coordinate with project managers, discipline engineers, designers, drafters and field staff, ensuring the consistency in the delivery of project activities. In addition, you may also be responsible for organising and conducting project meetings and progress reviews.
Our project engineer roles span many different disciplines, including civil, consultancy, electrical, energy, mechanical, oil and gas, project controls, project programme and commercial management. You’ll be given the opportunity to not only make a difference within one of these fields, but to grow your own skillset and develop your career.
Within your role, we’ll expect you to have sound knowledge of that specialist area. You should also possess strong technical and design skills, good judgement, proven project management experience, along with a willingness to learn and better yourself.
Project manager jobs in Houston
You could join our project management team and specialise in a number of different disciplines, such as oil and gas and project programme and commercial management. Within this role, you’ll get involved in a number of tasks such as coordinating projects, interacting with clients, and leading project controls and planning for combinations of different project types.
We look for individuals with great interpersonal, communication, documentation and technical skills. For more senior roles, we also look for strong leadership skills and the ability to simultaneously develop your own career while helping other project managers to succeed.
Environmental jobs in Houston
We provide a full spectrum of environmental services, from planning and permitting through to project completion. This is why we offer a variety of environmental services throughout Mott MacDonald where you could play a key role. In particular, our energy group is rapidly expanding so we are seeking talented and experienced investigators, archaeologists and environmental scientists. You’ll provide field and technical support for energy, transportation and other significant development projects.
Within this team, you’ll conduct phase I archaeological surveys, phase II assessments and phase III mitigations. You’ll also gather and analyse project and site information, assisting with the preparation of permit applications and associated documentation. You may also be entrusted with managing field crews and mentoring junior team members, as well as newly hired archaeologists.
Project controls jobs in Houston
Working within project controls means you’ll become an integral part of our team, contributing to and even leading the cost control function for major oil and gas manufacturing projects. Depending on your role, you will likely get involved in tasks such as establishing and implementing detailed project controls plans, maintaining project progress reporting, and preparing project budgets and estimates.
One of your main responsibilities will be capturing and monitoring data to ensure plans, costs, schedules, contracts, pricing and invoicing information are correctly in place and accurately reported.
Due to the nature of this role, we’ll expect you to have a good grasp of preparing cost control plans and procedures, with a keen attention to detail and a desire to deliver the best possible product at all times. For more senior roles, you should also be confident in leading and managing project cost control systems.
Project specialist jobs in Houston
Within our Houston office we have opportunities for project specialists to join us in disciplines such as energy and oil and gas. You’ll mostly take on the role of technical specification writer to support one of our teams, where you’ll review, edit, revise and recommend improvements for a range of technical documents, policies and guides.
You’ll also be responsible for scheduling meetings and conference calls, creating documents while participating in technical meetings and discussions, and incorporating changes into documents for discussion. If you have experience of writing technical procedures and documents and are comfortable creating documents using a computer, you’ll be a good fit for this role.
