United Kingdom / Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)
Why did I choose an apprenticeship?
I wanted to kickstart my career by getting experience in the workplace alongside professionals in the industry. Mott MacDonald offered this experience in a welcoming environment and the company takes the development of early careers seriously. The position looked interesting to me as I was keen to develop my engineering skills and this apprenticeship offered a range of opportunities to do so. I also saw that apprentices could choose to progress to a level 4 course after successful completion of the level 3.
What do they like about doing and apprenticeship?
I really like how my colleagues help me to perform different tasks and learn new skills. This course offers many challenges that present opportunities to learn on the job. I think this is a great way to learn new things such as software like AutoCAD, producing and delivering presentations or learning to read and produce different kinds of drawings. Opportunities to develop these skills are always available through working on different projects and in different teams. After I finish this course, I have the choice of progressing to the level 4 course or working as a technician in the company.
What are your future goals?
When I finish this apprenticeship, I hope to progress to a level 4 apprenticeship where I hope I can further develop my skills and continue learning about the industry. I’m excited for the opportunities I’ll have and the challenges once I have achieved my qualifications.
Opportunities to develop these skills are always available through working on different projects and in different teams.
