Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
I chose to join Mott MacDonald half way through an inspiring guest lecture by Alan Powderham at my university on the ‘Big Dig’ in Boston. I’d never before witnessed such passion in civil engineering and it saved me from a career in the City!
What is the best thing about your role?
I love my job because I get to draw on the things I’m good at to make a difference. I am actively encouraged to find innovative means of solving problems that lead to better outcomes. I also get to work with some great people and that makes all the difference.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Working for Mott MacDonald is great because you are working with people who care about what they do. We really do take pride in what we do.
How have you been supported during your career development?
Over the 10 years I have worked at Mott MacDonald my line managers have consistently provided me with roles that stretch me beyond my current capabilities. This constant challenge has led to continuous learning and development as well as a highly rewarding career.
When you’re not in the office where can you be found?
Whenever possible I’m playing the guitar. Preferably this will be with my band (the Blues Experiment) but if not I’ll be at home trying not to wake the kids.
If you were to live anywhere, where would it be?
God’s own county - Yorkshire. Oh wait, I already do.
