Sydney Metro Northwest
As more and more families and businesses make Northwest Sydney their home, this vibrant growing community needed a modern transit system to get them to where they needed to go. Mott MacDonald were part the £8.3bn works that resulted in Australia’s biggest public transport network project to date and the country’s first fully automated railway network.
The project created eight new stations, five upgraded stations and trains that run every four minutes during peak time. Over 450 colleagues from Mott MacDonald in Sydney and around the world provided input into the detailed designs for new and reimagined stations. Together, they created designs that brought together striking architecture, peerless functionality, resource-saving sustainable construction and world-first engineering achievements for these new public spaces at the heart of the community.
Our Mott MacDonald team in Sydney continue to work with the NSW Government to extend this design vision to the very heart of the city.
Sydney Fish Market
Mott MacDonald was appointed from fierce competition to provide engineering services for the new $250 million Sydney Fish Market. This future world-class food and dining destination will be both an authentic community hub for the harbour and an iconic destination for Australia as a whole. Mott MacDonald will lead teams of structural, marine and civil engineers to bring about the ambitious new waterfront development.
