Parents and teachers

The decision to pursue an apprenticeship can be a big one. That’s why we’ve put together some facts about our business, as well as apprenticeships as a whole, to make sure you’re as clued up as possible, so you can provide the best guidance and support during the decision-making process.

We’ve been around for a while

We’re a global consultancy, meaning we provide design and advisory services to a variety of major clients across a huge range of disciplines. We were founded in 1902 and we’re best known for our engineering and management consultancy expertise across many sectors. However we also have experience in some of the more uncommon areas such as health, education and ecology.

Our apprenticeships are some of the best in the country

With numerous awards won by our apprentices, including New Civil Engineer apprentice of the year 2018, as well as being placed fourth in the Glassdoor ‘Best places to work UK’ 2017, it’s clear we must be doing something right. By choosing an apprenticeship with us, you can be sure you’ll be entering into a high quality and fulfilling workplace, an excellent place to learn the ropes.

A promising start to a promising career

All of our accredited schemes give apprentices a professionally recognised qualification. We have multiple starting points, so there are options available for those who have just finished their GCSEs as well as those with A Levels.

Once they’ve completed their schemes, our apprentices are equipped with the skills to progress within the industry and shape their careers in the way they want to.

A supportive environment

The jump into a new career can be daunting, and we’re on hand to make sure our apprentices have the support and guidance they need every step of the way. Alongside a line manager, apprentices are assigned a mentor to ensure their consistent development as they progress within their role.

Earning and learning

From day one our apprentices earn a salary as part of their roles. Training is covered and paid annual leave is provided, so there are no loans or debt to worry about!
