Our presence in the UAE has spanned over 50 years. In this time, we’ve contributed to a variety of developments across several disciplines including energy, environment, oil and gas and water.
Notable projects include the launch of the Surface Transport Master Plan (STMP), the public transport network which aims to connect all cities and districts in Abu Dhabi and aid the movement of people and goods. As a result of STMP and other ventures alike, we’re helping to support the increasing growth of Abu Dhabi.
We’re also helping to tackle stormwater flows and allow water recovery and reuse as part of the Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP). Over 100m deep and 50m across, STEP is one of the biggest underground pumping stations in the world. We look for specialists who can get involved with all aspects of projects like this, such as cost, health, safety and environmental.
Over in Dubai, we’ve completed phase one of the Marina Arcade Project, to help meet the rising need for quality apartments within this region. Developments such as this offer ongoing opportunities for talented quantity surveyors to be part of significant real estate projects within the Middle East.
Civil, electrical and mechanical engineering jobs in the UAE
We have been instrumental within civil, electrical and mechanical engineering sectors in locations such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. For instance, we have created a new state of the art shopping centre with 430 retail outlets, an indoor skydiving centre, and a 12 screen cinema. This is the first facility of its kind in the region to implement environmentally friendly and sustainable construction procedures from the design stage through to conception.
Similarly, we were given the challenge to improve and expand the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. Our engineering team responded to this through vertical expansion only, in which the roof of the mall was converted into a third retail level. In addition, an extra level was added to the existing car park which created 750 new spaces. The expansion has resulted in added revenue, without the cost of purchasing any land.
