Safeswim wins IDC 2018 Smart City Asia Pacific Awards

The awards, run by IDC Government Insights, celebrate technological innovation in 12 categories including transportation; smart buildings; civic engagement; urban planning and land use; public safety; and sustainable infrastructure.

Safeswim helps inform residents in Auckland, New Zealand, when and where it’s safe to swim and avoid water polluted by sewer overflows. Powered by our analytics and visualisation platform Moata, it connects real-time sensors across the wastewater network and global weather data, processing over 1bn data points each day to deliver high quality forecasts on water quality at 84 beaches around the city. This provides an early warning system to Auckland’s swimmers and beach-goers, allowing them to make informed decisions about when and where to go.
