Partnerships and collaborations

We actively collaborate with the following organizations in support of our equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts.

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)

We are signatories for the WISE Ten Steps process, an initial benchmark highlighting key priority areas for the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) sectors. We also sponsored WISE’s "People like me" initiative, which provides schools with tools and trained volunteers to encourage STEM aspirations in girls and boys.

Business in the Community’s Race at Work campaign

Working with race specialists from the Prince’s Responsible Business Network has helped us to focus on two priority areas: recruitment and retention of talent. Our account manager has joined us for a number of workshops, and delivered a webinar as part of our Black History Month celebrations.

Stonewall

We are members of Stonewall, the UK’s leading lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) charity. Stonewall membership has provided us with toolkits and guides to enable our policies and practices to be more inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity. Our account manager delivered webinars for LGBT History Month and also facilitated a workshop on LGBT inclusion through which our Advancing LGBT+ network was born. In 2016, Mott MacDonald marched at Pride in London alongside other leading construction and engineering firms under the banner #BuildingEquality.

Business Disability Forum

We are working with the not-for-profit member organization Business Disability Forum, which makes it easier and more rewarding to do business with and employ disabled people. Business Disability Forum provides pragmatic support by sharing expertise, giving advice, providing training, and facilitating networking opportunities.

Royal Academy of Engineering Diversity and Inclusion Leadership (DILG) groups

The Royal Academy’s Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Group (DLG) was established in 2013 as a collaborative group of around 40 engineering employers, institutions, and sector skills councils. Its aim is to increase diversity across engineering employment. Mott MacDonald sits on all five working groups, which focus on recruitment, measurement, procurement, communications, and the inclusive cultures project.
