Opportunity
The biggest P3 hospital project in Canadian history, the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) consolidates three existing teaching, research, and healthcare facilities onto a single site. The project faces the challenge of a tight city center location.
Solution
Mott MacDonald was retained as the Independent Certifier for the construction phase, responsible for checking the compliance of the facility against the clients’ requirements.
Outcome
CHUM will provide specialized and ultraspecialized care in 35 medical disciplines. It is expected to serve about 22,000 inpatients, 65,000 emergency patients, and 345,000 outpatients each year.
The building is intended to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver level.
