Walter Burke has joined the Environment Practice of Mott MacDonald as a Vice President for Geotechnical Services. He is based at Mott MacDonald’s headquarters in Iselin, NJ.
Walter Burke’s expertise encompasses geotechnical/foundation engineering studies, shallow and deep foundation systems, slope stability, ground improvement measures, solid waste disposal facilities, landfill closure, and environmental engineering.

Burke has provided geotechnical services for projects including the Red Bull Soccer Stadium (Harrison, NJ), Adventure Aquarium (Camden, NJ), Harrah’s Casino/Hotel (Atlantic City, NJ), Pier C Park (Hoboken, NJ), SUNY Albany, and the Channel 22 Television Transmission Tower (Seattle, WA).
Burke has authored and/or presented technical articles, case studies, and publications to numerous professional organizations, including the USEPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program, the Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations, the 21st International Conference on Solid Waste Technology and Management, Brownfields 2006, and the Deep Foundations Institute. He was a contributing editor to the “Landfill Closure and Reuse of Land” chapter of the Encyclopedia of Sustainability Science and Technology.
