Buildings
Our buildings business in New Zealand is going from strength to strength. We are providing structural and façade design and buildings services technical advice for the $35M Carlaw Park postgraduate student accommodation. Also at the University of Auckland, we are providing building envelope performance modelling and façade design for the new Science Centre 302 building.
In Australia our portfolio includes structural design of the award-winning Rouse Hill Town Centre and façade engineering for the Queen Victoria Building, one of Sydney’s architectural jewels. The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority has appointed us to provide structural and civil engineering advice for the Sydney International Convention and Entertainment Centre.
For the Adelaide Oval redevelopment we provided the concept design, followed by design management and overall project management during construction.
Transport
Our transport portfolio in Australasia is expanding fast. We’re continuing to work on Melbourne Metro and in Adelaide we are helping to meet future public transport demand and improve passenger safety and connectivity, working on Adelaide’s 12km O-Bahn guided busway network – the city’s most highly used transport link. We’re designer for the redevelopment of two interchange stations and for development of the third interchange as a mixed use transport, residential and commercial hub.
In Sydney we have completed design of the Schofields Road upgrade project, providing improved east-west traffic capacity. Capitalising on the multidisciplinary expertise of our offices across Australia we’ve secured a new port development in Bunbury, Western Australia for one of our global clients, Lanco.
In New Zealand we are providing a number of services for the proposed Auckland City Rail Link as well as undertaking an initial feasibility study for a combined road and rail tunnel across Auckland Harbour. The NZ$4-5 billion Waitemata Crossing will be the country’s largest ever infrastructure project and will ensure the ongoing growth and expansion of Auckland as a world class city.
Water
We’ve provided designs, tendering services, specialist reviews and contract management for many water projects including the Olympic Dam mine site in South Australia, desalination plants in Melbourne and Adelaide, and Sydney’s Macarthur Water Treatment Plant. Our water sector capabilities in the region are enhanced with the addition of specialist water technology and consultancy company AWT based in Auckland and Melbourne. AWT has provided science and engineering based services across the water sector for over 20 years and is known for its work on several leading edge projects including the expansion of Rotorua wastewater treatment plant featuring New Zealand’s largest membrane bioreactor.
Health and education
Our international health specialists manage the Health Resource Facility for Australia’s Aid Programme (HRF) based in Canberra. The HRF provides Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) with expertise on a range of health topics.
Our education team provides specialist consulting and professional learning services for leaders, schools and departments across the country. For instance, we worked with the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership, Victorian Department of Education and Training to provide coaching and support for principals in Victorian schools.
