Reaching the missing three million people living with TB
Under the fourth wave of TB REACH grants, 33 new projects are starting to implement more innovative techniques for detecting TB in 24 countries worldwide. We will continue our role of supporting and evaluating these programs to ensure that funding continues to reach the missing three million people living with TB.
Training for over 2,000 caregivers in South Africa
The Thogomelo project aims to care for and protect vulnerable children by providing psychosocial support for their caregivers and promoting caring organizational environments to foster their well-being.
Decline in mother to child transmission of HIV
In South Africa the rate of mother-to-child transmission of HIV fell from 3.5% in 2010 to 2.7% in 2011. We played a part in this success by managing the UK Department for International Developmenet's "Accelerated Plan," which worked to improve national services to prevent HIV transmission from mothers to their children.
Supporting the Government of Pakistan in improving the health sector
We are providing support to government at provincial and district level in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to strengthen health systems and build sustainable capacity to undertake work more efficiently. Branded as TRF+, the project aims to improve the access and uptake of reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) and nutrition services.
