Job Description

About role – is it right for you?

You will be responsible for providing day-to-day botanical/ecological support to a range of projects within an environmental team, working closely with other disciplines to ensure ecological objectives for projects are delivered successfully, within budget and to programme.

As the UK’s National Infrastructure Plan continues, the environmental demands in the power, rail, highways, aviation and water sectors need environmental specialists who can think laterally. We are passionate about providing our clients with sustainable solutions by constantly looking at challenges from a fresh angle. For us to continue maintaining our collaborative client relationships and further grow our environmental capabilities, we are on the hunt for like-minded, forward-thinking individuals to add to our growing UK teams.

Candidate Specification

About you – have you got what it takes?

We’re looking for individuals with passion and enthusiasm, individuals that are ready to make an impact. It is important that you have a good client and business development focus as well as previous experience working in a consultancy environment.

• BSc in botany, biology or ecology (minimum of 2.1 classification).
• Understanding of main UK, EU and international legislation and policy on biodiversity and nature conservation.
• Good knowledge of UK habitats and flora along with botanical survey/monitoring methods.
• Proven experience in undertaking botanical (NVC) and other ecological surveys in the UK, including Extended Phase 1 habitat surveys.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork in the UK.
• Strong report writing skills, attention to detail and ability to write concise reports.
• Ability to work independently, take the initiative, make robust, defensible decisions and work to tight deadlines to meet client needs.
• Basic GIS skills.
