Principal project manager/transit leader
Job Description
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Principal project manager/transit leader to support project and team management in our Toronto, ON office. In this position you will be responsible for various leadership and project management responsibilities on transportation projects with a particular focus on transit. Additionally, you will support growth initiatives through establishing and building client relationships in the transit sector.

- Planning, organizing, coordinating, and working with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of transit projects.
- Leading and mentoring a team of exemplary professionals focussed on transit.
- Managing project staff and subconsultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope.
- Participating with senior leaders in the establishment of short and long-term plans for the transit sector.
- Formulating and developing long range goals and objectives for specific market sectors
- Providing leadership in compiling preliminary and detail design documents for transportation projects
- Develop and maintain client relations through project efforts and involvement in industry activities.
- Actively participating in and supporting internal and external development and training activities.
- Provide input into proposals and into business development efforts.
- Acting as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision and value proposition internally and externally.

Candidate Specification
Our team of professionals provides cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. We’re looking for an individual to join our team to continue this traction and invite applications from candidates with:
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in the transit sector
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Master’s degree preferred
- P.Eng in Ontario
- Experience in team leadership, organizational design, and management as well as project management and delivery of transit projects
- Management experience of both large projects and teams, for the total delivery of projects from their inception to completion and operation
- Technical management and oversight of transit related projects and initiatives
- Self-directed, ability to work well and seamlessly with a larger team, including outside experts and key stakeholders
