DoD SkillBridge - EDI assistant
Job Description
We are currently seeking a dynamic administrative assistant to join our HR Team through the DoD SkillBridge program. This role has primary accountability for the administrative activities involved with supporting the equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategy for Mott MacDonald – North America. This role works with staff, management, and external third parties and must maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.

- Create and maintain databases and other associated files
- Receive, process and address inquires related to the EDI strategy
- Support EDI initiatives; i.e., creating EDI content, managing website, attending meetings, etc.
- Work with our ‘Advancing’ employee EDI networks to guide their development and deliver projects and campaigns on accessibility, gender, LGBTQ+, neurodiversity, parents and caregivers, veterans, and race and culture inclusion.
- Support the governance of the regional approach to EDI that currently uses a steering board, and bi-annual organizational EDI reviews with senior stakeholders, including the global board and HR managers.
- Coach individual business units in the creation of evidence based and unit-specific EDI plans and committees.
- Analyze and communicate data from EDI dashboards, engagement surveys, and industry and national data sources.
- Provide subject matter expertise on equality, diversity, and inclusion to regional colleagues from talent acquisition, HR, IT, learning & development, data protection, and facilities.
- Manage our internal EDI reverse mentoring program and other initiatives that progress our performance towards our global EDI vision.
- Work closely with the internal communication and marketing teams to communicate our EDI efforts internally and externally through creating intranet, website, press, and social media content.
- Represent Mott MacDonald externally e.g., at client supplier diversity forums, EDI sector networks and conferences.

- Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Detailed-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and be a team-player
- Previous work experience in administration or human resources
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Passionate about Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Experience working within a Talent Acquisition/Human Resources/EDI function.
- Ability to inspire your peers, acting as a coach and mentor to others.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Presentation skills with the ability to provide verbal presentations to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Experience of successfully leading EDI change
- Best practice knowledge and experience of working with employee networks
- Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating an EDI approach within a large organization
- Ability to present confidently to stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to critically analyses and use data to inform your work
- Broad and deep subject matter expertise in relation to workplace related EDI barriers and best practices. Effective communication and influencing skills
- Confidence in dealing with individuals at all levels within an organisation including Executive level
