Graduate Engineering Geologist (Transport)

Job Description

Mott MacDonald Singapore is currently recruiting an Engineering Geologist (Graduate) to work in our Transport Sector. Within this role you will support the detailed design geotechnical engineering and calculations, technical reporting, soil reports, and support engineering tasks across a wide range of award-winning transport infrastructure projects. These projects include North-South Corridor, HS2 in the UK, Sydney Metro, Changi Airport Terminal 5 and Jakarta MRT. We are also involved in a number of hydropower and wind projects (onshore and offshore) and continue to grow in renewable energy. We are dedicated to delivering large infrastructure projects, to make a positive change for those who need it most.

This will provide an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to build their technical skills in engineering geology, and be involved in the delivery of a wide range of engineering projects including deep excavations, MRT, hydropower, wind power, and other projects.

As part of the role, key responsibilities will include:

Assess the geology, geomorphology, seismicity, and/or hydrogeology and how the projects will be impacted by these factors.
Undertake desk studies and design physical site investigations.
Supervision and management of physical site investigations which include boreholes, geophysics, and various insitu and lab testing.
Develop geological maps, sections and 3D geological and hydrogeological models based on the desk study and investigation results.
Undertake geological and geomorphological mapping
Manage geotechnical database and GIS
Produce documentation, including reports, engineering sketches, engineering calculations, technical specifications, and tender documentation
Provide support to writing project proposals and business development
Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on multidisciplinary projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical standards and practices and taking a ‘hands on’ role in technical matters
A role in driving to digital strategy within infrastructure engineering

Candidate Specification

About You:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Environmental Earth Systems Science.
Self-motivated, analytical with a learning mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication & presentation skills.
Excellent written communication with great attention to detail.
Team player with the ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
