Billing specialist/project accountant

Job Description

Mott MacDonald’s Pittsburgh office is seeking a project and billing accountant to join their team. In this position, you will work alongside project managers and clients to produce timely billing and cost control reports for multiple projects throughout the company.

Job responsibilities include:

Primarily working with Project Managers and clients for a professional services firm specializing in consulting engineering with the clients being both public and private
Produce accurate and timely billing and cost control reports for projects while interacting with clients and colleagues throughout our Company
Invoicing and gather full knowledge and understanding the requirements of our contracts.
Gathering supporting documentation, checking the information for accuracy, following a standard or client specific invoicing format and following up with Project Managers and clients
Working alongside project managers to produce other project accounting data on an as needed basis
Provide additional support with administrative duties as needed

Candidate Specification

Mott MacDonald specializes in innovative engineering solutions for various projects in multiple sectors. This ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and skills:

Bachelor’s degree preferred but, not required
Prior experience working in billing or project accounting experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Must be well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have outstanding time management skills
Can meet deadlines as various invoices have different due dates each month
Be a team player and work well with others
Occasional travel may be required
