Environment and water
Through an EU-funded project, our environmental experts have been assisting Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to develop sustainable approaches to preserving the biodiversity of the Tien Shan region. Rising to 24,278 feet (7,400 meters), the Tien Shan mountain range contains an enormous diversity of habitats and species.
As subconsultant on the Kyrgyz program of the Water Management and Improvement Project, we have provided inputs on water resource management, environment, economics, design, and development of water users' associations for irrigation rehabilitation works in different parts of the country.
Mott MacDonald also examined the wider processes of irrigation management transfer throughout central Asia to develop guidelines and assist in future initiatives in these emerging economies.
Transport
We're undertaking technical due diligence of the public transport system in the capital city of Osh in the Kyrgyz Republic. We're dealing with the city’s Public Transport Company to review improvements needed for trolleybus, midibus, and bus routes including the purchase and maintenance of fleet vehicles. We're also providing expert advice to ensure that investment meets demand and a balanced contractual framework.
