Commitment

Mott MacDonald is committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce and ensuring high standards of health, safety, and wellbeing at work.

We are committed to achieving zero harm and embedding health, safety, and wellbeing as life skills to keep everyone safe in all that we do.

We take all reasonably practicable measures to eliminate hazards and minimise risks to employees and those who may be affected by our work activities.

We comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in every jurisdiction in which we work.

Approach

To fulfil our commitment, we:

  • provide a framework for setting safety and wellbeing objectives
  • provide appropriate training programmes according to specific roles
  • appoint safety and wellbeing managers to provide information, competent advice and support to staff on safety and wellbeing matters
  • consult with staff on safety and wellbeing and seek their participation in the implementation of this policy
  • work to continually improve our health, safety and wellbeing systems and practices to meet the needs of our employees, clients and business.

We follow ISO:45003 to implement best practice to manage workplace mental health risks.

Our business management system meets the requirements of ISO:45001 and is independently certified in appropriate geographical locations around the world.

Responsibility

  • The Group managing director is responsible for this policy and its implementation.
  • Regional general managers are responsible for the effective implementation of this policy in their regions and business units.
  • Health, safety, and wellbeing leads, and people leads are responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of this policy and for ensuring that our health, safety and wellbeing commitments are reflected in our operational requirements.
  • Project managers and line managers are responsible, and project principals accountable for incorporating health, safety and wellbeing requirements into projects and operations, in line with local legislation and client expectations.
  • All members of our workforce are responsible for conducting their work with minimum risk to themselves and others.
