We comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in every jurisdiction in which we work.

Approach

To fulfil our commitment, we:

  • follow international best practices and standards to benefit the Group, clients, stakeholders and society while minimizing environmental impact
  • use our procurement processes to explore market opportunities, assess risk and deliver value for money
  • undertake due diligence to evaluate risks before formalising relationships with contractors, suppliers, and business partners
  • assess the business ethics, values, and behaviours of suppliers, and business partners against expectations set out in our Code
  • require our suppliers and business partners to evidence standards and policies which govern their business and meet their obligations procure goods that offer the best value and support us in our sustainability goals
  • meet contractual obligations and manage relationships proactively
  • withdraw from arrangements if commitments are breached or unethical practices are suspected
  • work to continually improve our procurement systems and practices to meet the needs of our employees, clients and business.

Our procurement requirements are formalised in our business management system.

Responsibility

  • The chief governance officer is responsible for this policy and its implementation.
  • Regional general managers are responsible for the effective implementation of this policy in their regions and business units.
  • Procurement leads are responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of this policy and for ensuring that our commitments are reflected in our operational requirements.
  • Project managers are responsible and project principals accountable for leading procurement on their projects. Members of our workforce involved in procurement activities must comply with this policy, the procurement requirements and must adhere to the Group’s delegated authority limits for procurement funding.
