What do you enjoy about working here?

I enjoy the diversity of people I work with and the variety of interesting projects I work on.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I studied quantity surveying and after a few years working in this specialism, I was regularly involved in change management and contract administration. As a commercial manager, I look at all commercial and contract management aspects of contracts and projects throughout their lifecycle. I chose to do a master's in construction law and dispute resolution as it was relevant to the work I do, and I enjoy it.

Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?

Mott MacDonald’s values resonated with me and I wanted to make a switch from contracting organisations into an engineering consultancy.

How has your career progressed since joining?

My career has progressed well. When I joined, I was employed as a senior quantity surveyor, before progressing to a principal quantity surveyor, then an associate and now my role is commercial manager for the Saudi division.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

I have learned a lot while working at Mott MacDonald, most notably that personal development goes hand in hand with professional development. Seeking and giving regular feedback is important to personal development. I appreciate the diversity of our teams and have learned that when a team is aligned with the overall objectives, all obstacles are mere challenges to overcome.

How do you demonstrate Technical Excellence in your work?

Robust record keeping is key to my role. I guide various teams to enhance their project communications where required. I maintain consistency in my work and when consulted ensure that the standard of our output is consistent with leading industry standards.

How do you contribute to Mott MacDonald making a difference to people and the planet?

I support a variety of project teams who are delivering work on projects that make a difference to people’s lives and the planet.

Where in the world has your role taken you?

Since joining Mott MacDonald in the UK in 2008, I transferred to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) office in 2015 and in 2023 I transferred to the Saudi Arabia office.

What are your career highlights and achievements?

I have worked on mega infrastructure projects in the UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia. Being involved in these iconic projects, which make a positive difference to the daily lives of citizens in these countries, is a highlight for me.

Are you involved in any additional initiatives at Mott MacDonald, aside from your day-to-day role?

I am a regional practice leader in renewable energy generation, focusing on upskilling staff in renewables and coordinating global practice objectives in our region. I am also an active member of the Mott MacDonald equality, diversity and inclusion network, EDI Advance, in my region.
