Rajdeep Chakraborty

Rajdeep joined Mott MacDonald in 2017. Over the last eight years he has played a key role in leading and growing the team on several wide-ranging multidisciplinary projects with an expertise in special and long span bridges, bridge assessment, unban metro structures and marine structures.

As a technical director of transport for our global delivery services in India, Rajdeep’s focus is on bringing a global perspective on concept design, preliminary design and detail design of bridges, flyovers, cut and cover tunnel for highways and railway structures. He has developed and implemented digital approaches on projects to shorten decision-making time. As regional practice leader for bridges and civil structures, Rajdeep designs post-tensioning cable layouts and analyses bridge behaviour under various loads. He also conducts single-span integral bridge analysis, focusing on structural behaviour without expansion joints and load transfer to the foundation.

Rajdeep has over 22 years of experience in detail design and project management of heavy infrastructure design projects. Prior to Mott MacDonald he successfully led bridges design divisions across global organisations.

Rajdeep holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology. He is also an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Indian Road Congress.
